Dean Bojan Cukic elected to leadership team of CRA Deans Council

The Computing Research Association announced the newly elected leadership team for its Computing and Information Deans Council, naming UNC Charlotte College of Computing and Informatics Professor and Dean Bojan Cukic as the council’s secretary.

Joining newly elected Chair Dennis Livesay (Dave House Dean of Computing at Michigan Technological University) and Vice Chair Martha Garcia-Murillo (Lee D. and Willa Seemann Distinguished Dean of the College of Information Science & Technology at the University of Nebraska Omaha), CRA Deans Council provides leadership and community for emerging and established colleges and schools of computing, information and artificial intelligence across the country. 

“I am honored to have been elected by my peers to help lead our organization and support our members,” Cukic said. “I look forward to partnering with my friends and colleagues Dennis and Martha at this transformational period for technology and society, as we work together to advocate for our academic and research community.”

According to CRA, more than 40 institutions currently participate in the CRA Deans Council. The council typically meets twice a year to discuss common issues facing deans and to share advice and best practices across constituent institutions.

Prior to his appointment as Dean of the College of Computing and Informatics, Cukic held several key administrative roles at UNC Charlotte, including serving as the Associate Dean for Academic Programs and Student Success, Chair of the Department of Computer Science and the Data Science Initiative’s Interim Executive Director. His scholarly contributions encompass the fields of resilient computing, biometrics and software engineering.
