Incoming freshman and incoming transfer students:
You are on the right track to becoming a 49er! The Future 49er portal is your connection to the admissions office at UNC Charlotte and will walk you through everything you need to do between applying, scheduling tours, and stepping onto campus your first year. Admitted Students
An Admitted Student is a student who has applied and been accepted to UNC Charlotte to study in the College of Computing and Informatics.
As an Admitted Student you:
- Are welcome to explore the campus and attend a College of Computing and Informatics presentation at Admitted Students Day! Please note: Admitted Students Day is NOT MANDATORY, nor does it take the place of Summer SOAR/orientation. You will NOT be registering for classes at this event.
- Must attend New Student Orientation to enroll in courses for your first semester at UNC Charlotte and register with your Academic Advisor.
- As you begin your time with the College of Computing and Informatics, students are initially defaulted to the concentrations of Information Technology (for Bachelor of Arts students) or Software Systems and Networks (for Bachelor of Science Students). All Computer Science degrees are composed of: (1) General Education Requirements, (2) Minor/Related Work, (3) Core Requirements, and (4) Major Requirements. You will declare one of the Computing and Informatics Concentrations upon successful completion of Computing and Informatics 2214 and the corresponding calculus course.
