Alycia Parsons (she/her/hers)

Alycia holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Recreational Therapy from Western Carolina University. Where she specialized in areas such as rehabilitation, geriatrics, and pediatrics with developmental disabilities. Later, she attended the Southeastern School of Neuromuscular and Massage Therapy and graduated Valedictorian. While Alycia was practicing massage therapy, she began to work in higher education. Starting as an adjunct instructor and then moving to a Director of a successful Therapeutic Massage Program. In this role, she managed and led a successful team of adjunct instructors, worked with an amazing Advisory Board, and worked with the North Carolina Community College Systems Office in developing curriculum for Therapeutic Massage programs across North Carolina.
Now a retired massage therapist, Alycia has continued her love for higher education. She received a Master’s Degree in Higher Education, graduating from Regent University, Magna Cum Laude. While receiving her master’s degree, she worked as an Associate Director of Admissions for graduate, transfer, and non-traditional populations. Alycia is a Certified Appreciative Advisor and holds a certification in Adult Metal Health First Aid. She also works closely with UNC Charlotte’s C-Fit students and UTOP CCI students.
Alycia’s ultimate goal is to help others reach their goals and dreams. Her call and passion have always been to help individuals be the best they can be. She now achieves this calling by advising students and helping them reach their goals and dreams through higher education. Alycia has been part of UNC Charlotte since the fall of 2022.
