Gabriel Terejanu is a Professor of Computer Science at the University of North Carolina at Charlotte. He has previously held academic positions at the University of South Carolina and was a fellow at the University of Texas at Austin. His industry experience includes roles as a software engineer and quantitative researcher in IT and financial services, along with providing AI consulting for healthcare and biotech companies.
Prof. Terejanu’s research focuses on Causal AI, Invariant Machine Learning, Bayesian Inference, and Uncertainty Quantification, with applications in engineering, physical sciences, and data science. His interdisciplinary efforts drive innovations across various sectors, from agriculture to aerospace, as well as in materials discovery and social media analysis, with a particular emphasis on industry impact and business innovation.
He has secured funding from the Army Research Office (ARO), National Institute of Food and Agriculture (NIFA/USDA), National Science Foundation (NSF), Toyota Racing Development (TRD), and Lowe’s Home Improvement. His industry collaborators include LendingTree, EagleEye Analytics, and Atrium Health.
