James Rudd
Dr. Rudd is an Adjunct Professor at UNC Charlotte specializing in software methodologies. He is also is a Partner and Vice President of Research at Watermark Digital, a software design and development consultancy.
Prior to becoming an adjunct professor at UNC Charlotte, Dr. Rudd held senior technical and executive roles at IBM including Global Leader of IBM Interactive as it emerged as one of the world’s premier digital agencies, ranked #1 by Advertising Age world-wide starting in 2014.
Over the course of his 30-year career with IBM, Dr. Rudd counted many Fortune 500 companies as clients including CPG, travel and transportation, media and entertainment, and financial services among others.
Dr. Rudd is past President of the Board of Certification for Professional Ergonomics, the largest software user-interface professional certifying organization in the world.
Professor Rudd has received a dozen patents and has published several technical articles including co-author of a book and several book chapters.
Dr. Rudd received his Masters in Computer Science from UNC Charlotte, his Ph.D.in Cognitive Psychology from Virginia Tech. and graduated with a B.A. from Drake University, summa cum laude and Phi Beta Kappa. The professor is an avid tennis player and a very marginal golfer
