Advising Director

Kevin (he, his, him) is the Director of Advising for the College of Computing and Informatics.  He collaborates with a staff of nine professional advisors who provide guidance and support to over 3600 undergraduate students. Kevin serves on several college and campus-wide committees to assess and enhance the student advising experience at UNC Charlotte.

Prior to his role in the College of Computing and Informatics, Kevin was a graduate coordinator for the Graduate Certificate in Teaching and Teacher Licensure Officer in the Cato College of Education.  Kevin also served as an academic advisor in University College and the College of Humanities and & Earth and Social Sciences during his 22 year tenure at UNC Charlotte.

Kevin is involved in the National Academic Advising Association (NACADA), First-Year Experience, and has completed training with the Center for Creative Leadership.  Kevin has completed several on-campus leadership courses, and was awarded the College of Computing and Informatics Staff Leadership Award in 2023.

Kevin is originally from Southwestern Virginia but moved to Columbus, Ohio at the age of ten.  He earned his undergraduate and graduate degrees from Ohio University and is a big Ohio State Buckeyes football fan.  He enjoys spending time with his family and doing any outdoor recreation activities.  Kevin enjoys reading biographies, non-fiction and some historical fiction.
