Changing Major – Adding Minor

Computer Science (CS) Internal Transfers Guidelines

(For current UNC Charlotte students who are not CS majors who wish to become CS majors.)

The following conditions must be met before the student’s request to Change Majors will be approved:

  1. Must have a 2.5 cumulative grade point average with 12 or more hours earned at UNC Charlotte
  2. Must have a grade of “C” or higher in MATH 1120 for Bachelor of Arts, or a grade of “C” or higher in MATH 1241 for Bachelor of Science in Computer Science
  3. Must have earned a “C” or higher in ITSC 1212, ITSC 1110, or DTSC 1302. Note: Any of these are acceptable for entry into the major, but a “C” or higher in ITSC 1212 will be required for degree completion.

CURRENT CCI STUDENTS WHO ARE CHANGING FROM ONE MAJOR PROGRAM TO ANOTHER WITHIN THE COLLEGE:

For students who are currently in a CCI major and eligible to change, please complete the following form that relates to your desired major:

Non-CCI Students who want to add a CCI Minor:

  • Must have an overall UNC Charlotte GPA of 2.0
  • Must fill out this FORM
