K-12 Outreach
upcoming event: teen hackathon, March 1, 2025
CCI’s Teen Hackathon is a completely free and unique hackathon dedicated to high school students in the Charlotte-Mecklenburg and Cabarrus County area. Our goal is to provide a platform where participants can explore the world of technology and develop an impactful solution to a real-world problem. Whether you’re a beginner or experienced, the Teen Hackathon is the perfect opportunity to work within small groups (3-4 people), explore creative solutions and showcase your skills in design, coding, and problem-solving.
No experience, no problem! All skill levels in computing welcomed and encouraged to participate! Hackathons are not just about programming, they are about teamwork, creativity, and solving problems together.
Here are some roles your team may have: Designer (creative), Developer (technical), Project Manager (organizer), Idea Generator (brainstorm)
UNC Charlotte will be hosting the Teen Hackathon! Participants will have access to experienced mentors in the computer science department, planning rooms, meals, parking passes, and prizes.
