CCI Student Professional Development

CCI Professional Development activities are designed to help students gain confidence in communicating their experiences and skills to potential employers through workshops and events led by industry professionals and alums. Additionally, these programs are designed to help students build networking contacts as they seek opportunities. Those who participate indicate an increase in understanding about industry topics, the work of various roles, as well as a better understanding of how to apply transferable skills with their technical knowledge to achieve their goals.

Applications Open for the CO-LAB Ventures Pitch Competition
CO‑LAB Ventures is an interdisciplinary pitch competition that brings together students from across UNC Charlotte to collaborate on bold ideas. Designed to foster teamwork between two academic colleges, this year’s challenge pairs students from the College of Computing & Informatics (CCI) and the College of Humanities & Earth and Social Sciences (CHESS) to tackle real‑world problems through innovative, cross‑disciplinary thinking. This year’s theme, Entrepreneurship for Public Good, invites teams to co‑create solutions that strengthen communities and advance the public good. The competition will take place on April 27, 2026 at CO-LAB in Uptown Charlotte. Apply by Feb. 15.
