Domenico Cotroneo is currently Full Professor in the Department  of Computer Science at the University of North Carolina at Charlotte. He is a senior IEEE member, an elected member of IFIP WG 10.4 on Dependable Computing and Fault Tolerance, and he has been the chair of IEEE Technical Community on Dependable Computing and Fault Tolerance as IEEE senior member.

Domenico Cotroneo’s research contributes to the fields of software engineering, and in particular to the following areas:

·         Dependability and security of complex software systems

·         Software fault injection and resilience assessment

·         Performance degradation and failure analysis

·         Automatic exploit generation and threat emulation

·         Machine learning for software reliability and security

·         Trustworthiness of LLM-based code generators

He has contributed more than 200 publications in international, high-profile journals and conferences, including: ACM Computing Surveys, IEEE Transactions on Software Engineering, Empirical Software Engineering, IEEE Transactions on Dependable and Secure Computing, IEEE Transactions on Reliability, the Annual IEEE/IFIP Intl. Conference on Dependable Systems and Networks (DSN), the IEEE Intl. Symposium on Software Reliability Engineering (ISSRE), the European Dependable Computing Conference (EDCC), the IEEE Intl. Symposium on Reliable Distributed Systems (SRDS), the IEEE/ACM Intl. Conference on Software Engineering (ICSE), the ACM Intl. Symposium on Software Testing and Analysis (ISSTA), and the IEEE/ACM Intl. Conf. on Automated Software Engineering (ASE).
