Keionda Sanders

College of Computing and Informatics

Academic Advisor

Keionda holds a Bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education from the University of North Carolina at Wilmington. She began her love of education, teaching middle grades science and math to students across the state of North Carolina. Keionda gave back to the profession by participating as a mentor and cooperating teacher for beginning teachers. The work with beginning teachers sparked an interest in working with students at the higher education level.

Upon reaching a milestone of teaching for 20 years, Keionda completed her Master’s degree in Higher Education and transitioned to higher education. Prior to joining the College of Computing and Informatics advising team, Keionda worked as a Success Coach for first year students at Wingate University, an Adult Basic Skills Instructor at South Piedmont Community College and an academic advisor with the Lee Williams College of Engineering at the University of North Carolina at Charlotte.

Keionda is a Carolina girl, born and raised in Eastern North Carolina where the beach was her playground. She enjoys the sound of the waves and visits family and friends back East regularly.

When Keionda is not serving students she can be found spending time with her family participating in frequent family functions that include her favorites: family game and movie nights.
