C-FIT (CCI’s Forty-Niner Intensive Transition Program)

Program Description:

The Forty-Niner Intensive Transition (FIT) Program is a bridge program offered to UNC Charlotte students in specific colleges prior to the beginning of the fall semester.  CCI’s C-FIT Program is designed to provide any incoming students, all majors including undecided accepted, a head-start in their college experience while earning credits towards your Fall semester. Whether you have no prior computing experience, are self-taught, or need a refresher, C-FIT is an excellent opportunity for an introduction to the field of computer science: academic knowledge, resources, tips for success and the formation of community.

Participation in C-FIT allows students to move into their fall housing assignment one week early, be enrolled in a 3-credit hour course (ITSC 1110 – Introduction to Computer Science Principles), be assigned a peer mentor, meet campus partners to learn about campus resources,  be introduced to academic support services and tools for success in computing and be exposed to student engagement opportunities on campus.
